time and have already booked our stay for next year. The street we
stayed on this year is actually all booked for next year so we have
chosen another street that we think we will like just as much. One of
the reasons we like the street we stayed on this year and last is
because it's a circle and the kids can ride their bikes around the
circle and we can see them... this year's street - Fawn Circle is
across the street from the beach and our street next year will be
between the marina and the beach so a good location! We had a nice
house this year. Last year we were in a travel trailer but Point Sebago
doesn't rent travel trailers anymore... they are now "park homes" and
they are really nice and have plenty of room! I really tried to narrow
down the number of pictures for you so here they are!
The BOOTY!
Everyone has been asking me about the pirate booty. I had everything
neatly packaged into a cardboard box covered with a big fish net. It
looked really cool. Inside were 4 wooden treasure chests, 4 lanterns, 4
flashlights, 4 telescopes, sea shells, lots of gold coins, necklaces,
chocolate coins, tattoos, pirate hats and the infamous gold nuggets...
If you ever plan to do this, don't use the recipe I did for gold
nuggets because they really looked like gold cookies and therefore were
very messy. They didn't break open that well and the rings inside were
all gunky and nasty... not as I had envisioned, I thought it would be
hard and crack open easier... Oh, well - the kids didn't know the
difference and thought it was the coolest thing ever. The box was way
too big to bury and I didn't do the map, we just took a walk around the
house when we first arrived and voila, they found it! They loved it and
on the way home when asked what their favorite part of the vacation was
- they all said finding the pirate treasure... Here we are painting our
treasure chests... well the kids are anyway, I am painting a sign to
hang in the kitchen:
Here are Ryan and Eddie showing us the house:
Kevin and Eddie relaxing in the living room:
Here's Ed with Eddie and our nephew, Sean, on our first hayride of the week. Sean came to Maine with us for the week!

Hayride with Chippy:
The Welcome Show / Pizza Party! This show is always a hit... the kids love
the characters - from the left: Chippy the Chipmunk, Mortimer the Moose
and Squeaky the Squirrel.. there are a few more that are not in this
shot.
Here are the kids enjoying the feast at the Welcome Show.
Sean, Eddie and Ryan at the dance party with Flamin' Raymond and Sizzlin' Suzzin which followed the Welcome Show... Kevin was too tired to party so he went home to bed.
Who likes s'mores??? Anyone up for roasted sneakers?
Ed and Eddie in a kayak...
Our first sandcastle fun - we made a big square with a big moat around it!
Here's our castle we entered into the sandcastle contest.... sadly, we didn't win...:
Gotta love that clean Maine water!
Chillin' Out
Kevin in the splash park:
Eddie, Ryan and Sean getting cozy with the moose in the General Store.
The mini golf course... I think maybe the Sun is in Eddie's eyes?
This rock was in the middle of the circle/our street - the kids loved climbing on it:
"Princess Cruise" on the great big pontoon boat:
We went on an awesome pirate boat ride. The great big pontoon was
decorated with pirate stuff and there were pirates on the ship doing a
show... after a while, a small "pirate ship" circled our boat and soon
the pirates boarded our ship as part of the show... Here's Kevin and
one of the pirates:
Here's the gang with the "pirates" at the end of the show:
The World's Tallest Sandcastle! Did anyone happen to catch the CBS Early
Show on Friday morning or the Today Show on Saturday morning? Point Sebago has built the world's tallest sandcastle as a fundraiser to support Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine sits next to Point Sebago and is for families with terminally ill children. Each family receives a free week of camping. I think it's an awesome organization. It was really neat to see the sandcastle being built.. they have been working on it since June. Saturday was to be the big reveal and the official measurements... we tried to get on camera Friday morning but no luck. Point Sebago passed out flyers saying whoever had the best sign would win a free trip and there were some really good ones! We were standing behind those signs - ;o)
We miss you Maine!
